Youth Entrepreneurship Summit – 2020

IIM Bodh Gaya, in association with, Envision, the Entrepreneurship Cell of the institute organized its maiden Entrepreneurship Summit, YES 2020. The title sponsor of the event, NABARD, with Road Express as logistics partner, Mwash as a care partner and other sponsors LWT, Instade, 100X and Dare2Compete played a big role in organizing the event. 

The first day of the summit comprised of a key-note session by Arijit Bhattacharya, CEO & Founder, Virtual Infocomm; a panel discussion between the panellists Arijit Bhattacharya, Ravi Ranjan, Gaurav Gupta and Abhishek Kumar Gupta with Dr Tanmoy Kundu as moderator. The event commenced with Dr Vinita Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya talking about the culture of start-ups in India, she added, “A place like Bihar is full of Entrepreneurial opportunities which should be used for the greater good by the upcoming generation of the country.” She also talked about how YES 2020 was an initial step towards the various entrepreneurship ventures that have been planned to be laid out by the institute. During the key-note session, Mr Bhattacharya talked about the obstacles faced by budding entrepreneurs of the country and raised the question about what India was lacking, money, innovation or something else. This was followed by a Start-Up Hunt with teams participating from various esteemed colleges from across the country. Team DIME from NIT Suratkal won the contest with prize money of Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 80,000 worth of vouchers. The runners-up were Team Blisscare and Team Envirotech. 

The second day of the event was kicked off with a keynote session by Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Head – Training, Capability Development, HRM at Tata Steel and a panel discussion with panellists Dr Dhirendra Kumar, Major Vandana Sharma, Ritu Kant Ojha, Abhishek Kumar with moderator Dr Vinita Sahay. Dr Pankaj Kumar talked about Tata’s contribution to India’s emerging entrepreneurship ecosystem. He quoted Jamshedji Tata, saying, “In a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business, but is, in fact, the very purpose of its existence”. This was followed by a competition, CEO of the Day offering flight tickets to ISET’20, Singapore, and Instade coupons worth Rs. 5000. The winner of the contest was Somnath.
